To the OP, let me get this straight.

Fair point Min but I just work on the basis that if we provide enough information then eventually in some of the cases the data seeps through and they realize the untenable nature of their position.
If we did this together, of course we could provide the Max and Min positions.
Do you think I should provide an example based on astronomy too? The more bases we cover the better.

With most christians I would say your right as that is what happened to me, then again I was always a science lover and never anything close to YEC.When I think the skull thickness required to be YEC I can't help but think of this guy

OK well just for completeness and to feel I did my bit to help educate and all that:
The nearest Galaxy to us is Andromeda. It happens to be the only one you can see with the naked eye on a clear night (you can use Google Sky Map to help you find it if you have a smartphone).
It also happens to be on a collision course with the Milky Way (our galaxy) - so much for design but that's not the issue here.
Anyway Andromeda is about 1.5 million Light years away (do I have to explain how we know that?)
Here's the thing.
If you believe, based on biblical accounts that the earth is 6,000 years old then I presume you believe the universe is of similar age.
So - how can we see Andromeda?
If the universe is only 6,000 years old the light from Andromeda shouldn't reach us for another 1,494,000 years, give or take a few.

It would have to have been 5,000 lightyears away as the Persians describe it sometime before the turn of the first millenium.
However, as you understand that answer - God did it - is utterly useless and incredibly weak. I am hoping over the course of years the person that puts it forward as an argument realizes that.
I think the mistake we make in these discussions is to expect YEC's to see the light (so to speak) during the debate. This is unlikely but in the wee small hours, maybe years later, they might start to think...
Its all we can realistically hope for.
