I'm a YEC. Challenge me.
RE: I'm a YEC. Challenge me.
I will consider myself nailed there. That's the problem with an ageing memory.

And yes - I was ignoring Dwarf galaxies.

If there's one thing that both Tolkien and the Discworld have taught us, it's never to ignore the dwarves.
Big Grin
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Correction, I have zero respect for hypocritical assholes.

Or do you just wish to sling insults and watch how fast I piss you off?

Well then if we are "insulting" you, then a sure fire way to shut us up is with evidence. Getting pissed off at us picking on your sky daddy makes him not only look like he has a thin skin, but also makes him look like a selfish narcissist being more worried about what we call him than actual real human suffering. We picked on your sky daddy, and?

Beta Ray Bill called him an airhead. Just sayin'.

If you believe, based on biblical accounts that the earth is 6,000 years old then I presume you believe the universe is of similar age.

So - how can we see Andromeda?

If the universe is only 6,000 years old the light from Andromeda shouldn't reach us for another 1,494,000 years, give or take a few.

They just claim that God created the universe with the light already enroute to us. That, or else they claim that light was faster 6,000 years ago than it is now, and in one particularly strange case they claim that light doesn't travel at all, but just is.

If we did this together, of course we could provide the Max and Min positions.

Do you think I should provide an example based on astronomy too? The more bases we cover the better.

People who were formerly YECs often come to accept evolution when they've been exposed to enough evidence. However, it happens slowly, over time, in small increments. It's not something you can see happening before your eyes. Angel

The trouble is getting that information through the first few incredibly dense layers of their mind.

I rather like the idea that YEC's get it slowly. Its like.....evolution itself.

Maybe but the ones we are getting here lately seem to be Bush-class stupid. People like that do not want to learn. They want validation for the absurd shit they believe and they will go to con artists like ICR to get it.

They they show up here and annoy the smart people.
