So thats okay i'll stop the scientology, i will pickup that "epistmotology" the german guy recommended a few pages back.
so what should i do now? i'm reading through but i feel like i have no purpose in life. The guy at scientology said being a scientologist changes everything. for example when a regular person walks by a guy who got hurt, he may say a prayer for him or ignore him...but when a scientologist walks by, he knows that he has to stop and help, because he is the only one who can! and that made me feel like life was worht living.
but if u guys think its all a scam ill becoming a epistemologist.
How old are you leo?
I suggest you become a humanist.

You do know that the Raelian cult believe in intelligent design, don't you?

That doesn't make much sense to me.

Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I haven't read the whole thread, so forgive me if this has already been discussed, but aren't Scientologists atheists? I mean, there aren't any Gods in Scientology, are there?
(Amusingly, I tried to look this up on scientology.org and found it was blocked because "This Websense category is filtered: Non-Traditional Religions and Occult and Folklore." Haha)

They're a cult of personality as far as I see it. Hubbard is their god, in their mind. I suppose its debatable whether they lack any concept or belief in a god or gods.
What's not debatable is that they're all a load of space cadets.

I'd say all the religions are equally nuts with the exception of Norse mythology because it's friggin' sweet. Pillage, plunder, drinks, babes, Odin?! Sign me up!
I don't know though, Scientology is so nuts even Christians stay away from those folks. How does it go? Something about an alien in a volcano? I don't even... Not that it matters because Christians shun whoever doesn't buy into their beliefs anyway.

No demons in the furnace below (I am the frenzy)
I have realized I AM GOD

Yeah, because an alien in a volcano is so much crazier than an invisible man in the sky, his zombie son, women turning into salt, talking snakes, etc. etc.
