And The Foam spoke to me ...

Promised me eternal life and all that jazz, so I had no choice but to believe Angel

And, guess what, I seen and touched the foam as well Devil

Not to borrow a creationist canard, but you can't see air. And you can't see god.

See, this kind of bullshit is why people think you're uninterested in truth; you're applying a double standard, believing in god based on nothing other than faith, yet expecting unreasonable, solipsistic levels of support from anything that might contradict it. You are being dishonest. Stop it.

Quote:If you believe that then you have more faith than I will ever have.

Believe in something that has evidence behind it, and an observable effect? You have faith!

Believe in god based on no evidence and no observable effects? No faith there!

Rolleyes

Quote:I find Snowtracks posts to be solid, rational, and in good taste.

Which speaks volumes about how little you understand rationality and taste. Dodgy

It does make sense, though: both of you post nothing but ridiculous assertions without evidence. You're almost the same person, except you actually know how to grammar.

Quote:Even if there were such a thing as eternal foam that magically appears and disappears, even that would need a Creator.

He asserted baselessly, dishonestly misrepresenting the idea of quantum foam in the process and clearly demonstrating that he didn't read any of the links provided. Rolleyes

Rev, I think you're ready for some proper education.
I know this video has a few advanced physics, but Krauss tries to make it understandable to the beginner.

Great - now connect the dots between this "Creator" and "God". You make so many illogical and unjustified leaps of faith I'm seriously of the opinion you're a kangaroo.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I don't understand how creationists are a cheat? We have faith in an all powerful God who created this universe. You disagree. I get that, but why do you all have to belittle us, call us names, swear at us, and brush us off?

We don't know enough to say that your premises are true, so your conclusion is not guaranteed to be true.

In fact, it seems that all matter and energy of the known universe came from that quantum foam...not ex nihilo.

Quantum foam???

I'm not going to stake my soul on foam.

* "cheat" is not a swear word
* Google quantum foam before rejecting it, you're attempting to equivocate it with a supernatural deity. Hint: this is not another satire replacing the FSM with Spongebob Squarepants, it's a theoretical innate quality of space time.

In honor of nearing 100 pages of utter shite, I'd like to tip my hat to the long gone, unlamented dingbat who got the ball rolling: SavedByGrace, you were a peach of irrationality. I'm glad you bat for the Christians. May your brain droppings bring forth ever more atheist fruit wherever you go.

In fact what you believe is divorced from everything we have good reason to believe. But you believe it fervently .. as if that were any recommendation for anyone else believing it. Like so many of the worst kind of xtians you lack all humility. You esteem your own unjustified impressions and opinions above those of everyone else. You ask us to put aside what we know and join you in feebly believing utter bullshit. No thanks asshole.

God always was.

Or so your sort is fond of saying. Would you have any problem with accepting that the physical preconditions for the universe too "always was"? That is what I think. The necessary preconditions for everything we see now have always existed. No starter necessary. If you are content to accept that anything "always was", why not the physical world and its antecedents?

You are basing your beliefs on that which you have decided most worthy of belief. You can't blame the bible for choosing to believe the bible. That ridiculous choice was your own. There is no way you can avoid responsibility for the choices you make. We all understand that what you really desire to do is to melt into God .. to abdicate every shred of separate existence for the greater glory of god. But unfortunately for you, that isn't possible, because 'God' as you understand it does not exist.

That may be the one true thing you've said. (Did you think we had any doubt about that which would necessitate your saying it?) In exactly the same way, there is no need to tell you how ridiculous your notion of god is, but I am determined to repay you in kind.

it one of christianity’s foundational creeds that universe came into existence from nothing; would do you well to get behind krauss, he has unwittingly stumbled unto something that's true.
Atheist Credo: A universe by chance that also just happened to admit the observer by chance.
