testing god - take 1
my in-laws are devout Catholic. As such, they disdain other people, me included being an atheist, who are not Catholic like them. They called me derogatory names.
Like most Catholics (if not all), they believe that their god is all powerful and full of miracles. they said that according to their bible god cured the sick and punished the bad guys among inumerable things. since
i'm an atheist, i'm going to test what they said. here's what i am going to do to see if their good will perform some sort of miracle and punish me for being "bad".
i will take their holy cross off their altar and dip it a pile of steaming shit head first. then i'll leave it to dry and observe if god will perform miracles to wipe the shit off his face.
then i will wait and see if he's going to kill me with lightning or raise a flood of biblical proportion to wipe off mankind and start over again. in the past, god was very eager and efficient at punishing and
killing sinners so there are no reasons for me to believe he'll stop doing that. but somehow i'm doubtful any of these will happen.
so i'm going to begin my experiment now. if i don't report back in a few days you can assume that i've been annihilated by 'god'. if that happened you would have reasons to stop
being atheist and convert to christianity. on the other hand, if i survived, we can continue to be atheist.

ok ....

First of all, if you're looking for proof of anything, you can create it - the religious have shown us that. Which means it'll be even easier to prove that their god doesn't exist. In the end, your "proof" will mean nothing to them just as theirs means nothing to us.

Secondly, there's no need for all that. Christians (Catholics especially) are useless miserable people. Let them be. Enjoy your life and don't spend too much time trying to prove to them that their god is a joke. More than likely they will never see it anyway. They are throw-backs to a primitive time when humans were frightened of anything that did not understand.

Skip the middle man and go straight to shitting on the in-law's heads. Since they sound like shitheads already, I doubt they'll even notice.

Diego, there is another test you could make too, but it requires some heartfelt honesty and some courage.
Ask the God of Heaven to show you the way- if He is real.

My perception is atheists are frustrated and angry because God does not come to them their way- on their terms. It is like trying to push a chain.
Doesn't work. But give the above test a shot.

Your perception is inconsequential. Many atheists were former believers and some of them were even ministers who professed to truly know god. The reason they no longer are is because your angry, vengeful, jealous, narcissistic god isn't real.

Mr. P... I will tell you as I told another person like you on another thread. Don't come here and assume you know that we never tried a test. I grew up a Christian. Most of us are not "angry" at your god because... HE IS NOT REAL!

hey Professor, do you want me to mail you the dipped cross so you can ask him yourself if the so called "God of Heaven" is real? it's going to require some heartfelt honesty and courage on your part.
