"Cut and paste" Christianity
|
I was just referring to homosexuality though, not specifically promiscuous homosexuality.
Unless you are saying that God considers that ALL homosexuality should be repressed, but only heterosexuality should be repressed if it's promiscuous? In which case, don't you think that's kind of unjust? EvF
@ Frodo: With all these nagging questions and confusion going on, how can you claim that Christianity is perfect (referring to your signature)? Surely if Christianity was perfect then it would be plain and simple for all to understand and won't leave people confused.

So true. I found it funny how on Question Time, Nick Griffin describes Islam as a viscious faith due to it saying in the Koran that 'a women victim of rape should be stoned to death for adultery' etc., yet he wants the country to run on Chritian values, which, if this is anything to go by, are as equally viscious.

Judah was a trade rival with fellow Assyrian vassal states Ammon and Moab. Lot's daughters get him drunk, have incest with their father and give birth to the founding figures of Ammon and Moab. As Finkelstein notes, no 7th century Judahite could have heard the story and not failed to suppress a smile at the ignominious beginnings of their rivals. Excellent book, I forgot about his comments. To be in opposition puts you in the camp of incredulity. ie _you_ have the confusion, I don't. When it comes to working out issues that aren't well defined like this one (because it isn't clear) then I'm happy to do that. You think Christianity's non stance on this is a weakness, I don't. An outrageous comment totally unfounded. (November 1, 2009 at 12:45 pm)fr0d0 Wrote: The bible refers to promiscuous homosexuality, and elsewhere also says the same about heterosexual promiscuity. Or is it just repressed homosexuality that is thought of as "ok", in which case if you want to be a true Christian and you're a homosexual... you're just plain unlucky? EvF
According to me (LOL) the bible is non committal on the subject.
So you mean, it doesn't care so long as it's not promiscuous?

You don't have to be in the opposition camp to find certain things in Christianity incredulous. I wasn't referring to merely the homosexuality issue but rather ALL the confusion there is within Christianity.
