I recently watched my grandfather die- as in, I was in the room while he died. It was not beautiful. It was ugly.
That said, almost immediately after he died I felt good, because he'd been so sick for so long, he was almost 102 years old, and he had not been himself for years. He'd been a bag of bones with a decaying brain. He had been a burden to himself and to his family, and when that is the case for a long time, you can forget the real person he used to be.
After he died, I could really remember- immediately- the real, wonderful man he was, instead of the sick, senile, sad thing he'd become.
And THAT was beautiful.

This quote is really how I see death, whether it's to embrace the void or to begin a new life of some kind (which I highly doubt) I'm ready to face it when death claims me.

I'm pretty much on board with this. I don't want to die, because I enjoy life, and the mere fact that life exists. Christians talk about mystery; the aforementioned fact is a mystery.
I do fear the physical process of death, which can come in many ways. Aheart attack sounds painful and doom-filled. Breathing trouble can induce panic. A car accident that you initially survive only to be pronounced dead at the hospital? Do not want!
So, I'd need to vote both, but I voted neither.

I've only had one really bad drunk posting experience. I misread the host mask in my logs when comparing it to a suspicious user on irc / chat and banned an innocent user. He got bent, and even after I apologized, said he was never coming back. Other than that, even if I'm totally floatersville, I usually have sufficient top-spin on the ball to keep me out of the water hazard.
