Jesus was a jew but Titus says Jews aren't to be trusted?
Titus 1
1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
1:11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
1:13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

You are not trying to say there is a contradiction in the Bible are you?

Good grief - well it must be the only example. This is the word of God we are talking about - its ridiculous to suggest that there are contradictions.

You are not reading it right - or not interpreting it right - or it says somewhere else something irrelevant that obviously unites these 2 apparently opposing positions. Oh no, wait, its a mistranslation.

If the verses were written on a building wall downtown, it would be derided as "Hate Speech", but in a black leather bound book it's considered the foundation the founders of the US used to build this great country.

Yes, that is how stupid christians are.

Duly noted.

Not at all hateful, I would suggest. (I assume you're aware the Cretian comment is a quotation, and is a separate comment from those on Jews, which begins at 1:14.)

Be mindful of the difference between the Jews as a race, and Judaism the religion. 'Paul' isn't attacking the former; given the awareness within C1 Xianity of its Jewish origins and Founder that's not yet a problem within Xianity.

He's attacking the continued emphasis by some of the ritual elements of Judaism that had been made redundant within the mutated Judaism known as Xianity. Food observance, ritual cleansing, circumcision and the like would be the types of things he's saying really don't make the relationship with God work as it should. He's using the technical Jewish language of purity here to attack those seeking to preserve unhelpful and unnecessary aspects of Judaism. He's saying that by insisting on these things, they're opposing God rather than helping.

Indeed, far from being contradictory, this is exactly reflecting the sort of ideas in Matthew 15, and throughout Paul's letters.

By saying “These teachings are not at all what God's after”. He's hardly being offensive. It's not like he's calling the followers of the religion “stupid”, or anything.

Jesus may not have existed to have any skin on his head, but early Christians were a dispicable pack of lowlife race baiters who, for all their idiotic protestations of Roman persecution of themselves, were enthusiastic collaborator of and profiteers from Roman persecution of the Jews after the 135 revolt, and Christianity has ever since lived off of the same barrel of excrement created for that cynical exploit 2000 years ago.

The author of Titus was a Jew as well. It is likely Paul was speaking against those who told the Gentiles that they must be circumcised in order to achieve Salvation as Paul in his letters repeatedly rebuked those who added stipulations for Salvation in contrast to his preaching that Jesus/the Holy Spirit was all that was needed for Salvation.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Pseudoepigraphic bullshit. The pastoral epistles were late forgeries and given the name "paul" to give them to make the more authoritative.

Let me give you an example.

Let's say you write something...like your post above. If you post it under "Polaris" most people will say something like, "who?" or "oh...that idiot."

But if you were to write it under the name Pope Frank there are some who would see it as authoritative.

All of this is covered in Bart Ehrman's "Forged." You should read it.
