It was a comparison of scripture directly from the books of the Christian Bible. Those writing are the foundation of which the religion(s) of Christianity were/are built. Each sect of Christianity is different (all 41,000) of them, so the interpretations within the denominations differ as far as belief goes but the scriptures are written in stone. Can't be much more plain than that

Then what you are saying is that the scriptures are, in places, demonstrably untrue. I'd agree with that. But to reiterate, the religion is an outgrowth of the scripture. It cannot be either true or false.

Well, would an all powerful, morally perfect being have a moral obligation to remove the moral imperfections of others?

I'm inclined to say yes. I think it would be immoral if you had the power to prevent an immoral action but allowed it through inaction. Kinda like the first law of robotics

They don't think Moses lived to be 900 or there was a flood that wiped out humanity, or even that the accounts of the Gospel are without 'flavor' based on the motivations of the authors and the times they lived in.

That's certainly one way to look at it. But then you'd have to create robots to get that result. It's an interesting debate over whether or not our free will is a flaw or a gift.

I don't know about all religions, but Catholicism teaches a person isn't born guilty of said original sin.
