How atheist are you
#51
RE: How atheist are you
If I had to place myself on the Dawkins Scale, I reckon I'd weigh in at around 6.9 recurring. That's because, as others have already said, claiming absolute knowledge in either direction would be foolish; whatever you may think you know, there's always going to be that margin for error.

But the scale is only calibrated for gnosticism/agnosticism, not theism/atheism. In terms of my beliefs about gods and associated detritus, to invoke Laplace "I have no need of that hypothesis".
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

6 seems like a good number in the scale. I'll stick with that.

Do these numbers represent flaccid length or erect length?

It's totally ridiculous for anyone to claim they know anything- all humans are agnostic whether they admit it or not. Nobody knows. I get tired of theists and atheists who claim to know something that is unknowable. So fuck Dawkins and his stupid scale.

Wow. Touch a nerve there? Angel

As a prophet I know for a fact (as much as anything can be known) that god does not have identity.

I'd be OK with the concept if I got to be god.
I did the rounds of local Churches but none of them recognised my divinity.
It's not as if I want to be god all the time, I'm OK taking turns.
I don't know why I couldn't be god on Tuesdays 9-11pm, that's not unreasonable is it?

If I had to place myself on his scale, I'd probably be a 5, maybe 5.5?

But I don't have to, because just the sentence, "How atheist are you?" in itself makes me cringe.

6.99. I am open to the idea of a deistic God, though I have no belief in it.

Not at all true. I'm a 1 who gets along fine with 7s.

Which gets back to the main flaw with the scale, it is primarily a scale of Western religion related to Judeo-Christian-Muslim monotheism. I'm a Hindu (mono) theist, yet don't really belong on this scale. Nor do Buddhists. Or Shinto. Or all the varieties of Taoist. Or....
