The question that makes fundies hostile

As I see it, they reason that this question bothers them so much is that it puts them in a bind. They are forced to admit that contemporary secular morality is obviously more advanced and rational than Biblical barbarism, or admit to being psychotic.

Ah, you missed my point. I was talking about a very particular group of HP fans, Harmony shippers.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Slavery

You're saying you'd rather live in a world with slavery rather than same-sex marriage?

Drich,

I hope you aren't sincere. Fucked up, even by your standards.

Other than the Bible telling you it's an abomination, what is it about homosexual relationships that frightens you so that you would rather tolerate slavery?

I think that you are just playing dumb...

OH.
So you DON'T want to know what I think.
Fine.

Slavery

We have a winner here. An honest and direct answer. Psychotic, but honest.

One thing that is clear here, Drich, is that you are making an assumption -- you are assuming that in this slavery-allowing society that you would be on the preferable end of the slavery. So let's throw something in to make it more difficult for you. YOU are the slave. But in the same-sex marriage society there would be no requirement for you to participate in a same-sex marriage, it would be just to allow others that freedom.

Does that change your answer?

I have no doubt that he is being sincere. That is why most fundies refuse to answer that question. He really would have an grossly unjust, primitive, barbaric, ignorant, hateful, immoral -- but biblical society than a progressive and egalitarian but unbiblical society.

Yes, fundies really are that fucked up. They really truly are. Drich is honest enough to admit it.

Wow. How scary is that? Drich is scary. I live in an area where being a drich is normal. No wonder people around here don't like me... me and my equality wrist band at work. Ha! This explains a lot.
