Hey, guess what, you're right. I AM getting angry.

Hey Stimbo, here's another FSTDT for ya.

Bible supports slavery.

No it does not.

Quote:As for greed, selfishness, drug dealers, mental depression, self harm, destruction and weapons you think christianity would solve those problems?

Yes.

Quote:Keep dreaming.

I'm happy. I dont have a drug problem. I dont want for anything. I'm a pacifist. I'm not depressed. Have no self-harm issues. And money cant buy any of the the things which are most precious in my life.

If I was dreaming, I'd say dont wake me up.

The Bible has been used to support slavery quite extensively.

It's also been used to rupture ganglions. Just because someone uses it for something doesn't mean it's for that purpose (although I grant that the Bible has nothing bad to say about slavery.)

And that is one of the differences between you and me. You don't care whether your beliefs are true or not, just as long as you are comfortable. You don't care about reality you just want to stay in your dream. I on the other hand, would always want reality rather than a dream.

That is the only question that gets them pissed? HA, merely the suggestion that their god is fictional gets them pissed.

Even the blank statement; "Well at the end of the day religion isn't for everyone" succeeds in sending f undies into a strop.

Never read the Ten Commandments?
I presume you don't regard stealing a persons rightful wages as theft.
I suppose you never saw anything in the bible about greed.

BTW - the only thing 'granted' by you about the bible is that you either haven't read all of it or can't remember.

What the Bible says about slavery is bad, even if its writers didn't realize it at the time. Lion, is there anything in there about setting slaves free or anything about condemning those who physically enslave others?

Ooooo, who lit the fuse on your tampon?

The ten commandments. Indeed, part of a monologue by God giving instructions to his people. Exodus 20. Which is Immediately followed by exodus 21 where he goes on to say
"These are the laws you are to set before them:

Hebrew Servants

2 “If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. 3 If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him. 4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free."

So if Gods sanction against Stealing was meant to apply to not Stealing wages (although slavery is far more than that) how come IN THE VERY NEXT CHAPTER he goes on to give instructions on how any children born to a slave BELONG TO THE MASTER even after the slaves 7 years are up. An oblique prohibition followed by a direct endorsement? Nah, that doesn't work.

Sorry Lion, you're trying to make it say something it doesn't and ignoring what it palpably does.
