And maybe it provides an explanation to them for why society is so "Godless".
I have looked at the reviews of Warke's book on Amazon here is one of them:
Quote:I'm 43. I read this book after I listened to every live recording that Mr Warnke made when I was an impressionable teenage. I honestly didn't know that this book was supposedly full of lies until I decided that I wanted to read it again a few years ago and got on Amazon to find a copy. Here is my point.....maybe it is all a lie. Maybe Mike was a hoax and his ministry was based on lies. Maybe he was a womanizer and a cheater. Quite simply....I don't care. We all have problems. Ministers are no different....I'm sure that they are attacked with temptations and Satan's lies more than most of us. What I find startling is how many people forget that they have sin in their lives to the point that they talk about Mike Warnke like they are God sitting in judgement of him. I'm sorry. That's not your place. If he has done wrong, he will answer for it when he stands in judgement before God. What I CAN tell you is that Mike's humor and this book changed my life when I was an impressionable teenager. I have never forgotten them. This guy brought me closer to God and gave me hope in a hopeless situation before I became a man. I'm not condonning anything that Mr Warnke did that was bad. I'm just saying that God can use you when you are at your worst. As a matter of fact, He often uses us the most WHEN we are at our worst.....during the times that we are weakest and completely fallen.....He uses our strength and fortitude to touch another life. We don't even realize when it happens. So.....if Mike was lying in this book and in his comical testimonies in the 80's, he will have to answer for that to our God. But even if it was all lies, he gave me hope and faith in a desperate situation and time in my life. He had a part in making me into the decent man I am today. And in that way, God truly did use him to touch my life. So yes....read the book, and listen to his live recordings. I absolutely recommend them. And to everyone who is so quick to throw Mike under the bus....make sure that your own backyard is spotless and weed-free before you worry about your neighbor's.
There are several of these in which the subject simply does not care about the fact that the book is a complete fabrication. Warnke "brought people to Christ" and that's what matters to them. So he lied in order to accomplish this but, accoding to such people, the ends justify the means.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste -- don't pollute it with bullshit.

I've always found it interesting that jesus has such a fondness for utilitarianism
