Death in the family

Death in the family
Did not know where else to put this, actually just a note so you guys do not think I'm avoiding you. My wife's father passed away and we'll be out of town for a few days, see you when we return.

GC
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

My condolences to your family. I hope her (/their/your) grief is short lived and that it's not so hard to remember the man as he lived, and celebrate not his passing, but his life.

I'm so sorry GC! It's never easy mourning a parent Undecided
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

RE: Death in the family
I view death as the pinnacle of life - the apex where a definitive reconciliation occurs. I see death as the goal of this temporal life. Rejoice, brother... you're joy is to be found in your celebration of your loved one's life that is eternally a part of your consciousness now and forever.
