Saying good riddance to a dispicable person is hardly a moral blemish. It's exactly equivalent to saying "I'm glad that person doing terribly immoral things is no longer able to do it". Even God essentially does that when trumpeting the greatness of the days when all wicked beings have been destroyed.

When dangerous people die, it's a happy thing that they are no longer a threat.

However, I'm uncomfortable with cheering over it. No one ever deserved to die more than Ted Bundy, but the cheering at his death was sad. This Crouch guy was an asshole, but he was an old man and he died, and the world is full of bigger assholes who will live for years to come.
