I never thought jacob was terribly vague on his position, once I looked into red letter christianity. Besides catfish was a antagonistic troll, that purposely kept his beliefs vague to piss people off. They don't even type in a even similar style, jacob's wording and style is laid back and easy, catfish typed like a drunk ex boyfriend looking for a fight.

lol! Smile indeed, their style is different!

But if I made that connection, then there was some overlap in their POVs.
Catfish was a cherrypicker, and jacob said he was one too.... If I recall correctly...
If they cherrypick the same details of the book, or not, I know not. Catty was always very slippery on the details... and jacob... well, I said that on his first or second day, so I hadn't much to go on! Wink

Aside from sock-puppetry, who cares if people are consistent in their persona or style across forums? I don't.

As for being what one represents oneself to be, not everyone even knows himself well enough to guarantee that. And, just maybe, people change.

Me neither. Furthermore, my assholery peaks at TTA, is less here; and even less so on religious forums. And that is just identity as a function of environment, or reality as I see it.

Ok, I'm going to step in here for a moment and ask everyone (staff included) to step back and stop commenting on this issue. I feel terrible that something like this has happened, and it deserves a proper explanation where people are aware of both sides of the situation. Non-staff members do not have access to all of the information on this issue, and staff commenting on the issue do, so their words cannot always be interpreted correctly.

Until there is an official staff announcement, staff are only speaking for themselves in this thread. There is much that has been said which I disagree with, and I believe the rest of the staff would disagree with it too.

Please remember that this is the holidays; I have been offline and will continue to be until tomorrow. I'll try to get some kind of explanation of the situation up then, along with what we've done to rectify it, and what we have in plan to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Good idea.
RE: Privacy concerns from [split] AF Hall of Shame (Post Edition)
Update: An announcement on this issue is forthcoming. The staff have had a long discussion and come to a decision on what is to be done. However, there is a large snowstorm heading my way (Boston) and I may lose power for a few days, so please accept my apologies in advance if I am unable to post the announcement tonight as I intend.
