I mostly don't want to talk about atheism on fb because if people I like for other reasons are theists I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they're a sinnersburninhell but maybe they're a smoothjacob or a chadwooters, thinking people whose life-paths hooked them into a religion. People are able to overcome much worse than religion.
When people first get out of a religion we have all these unfinished conversations with people who had been important to us in one way or another. Justifying atheism or even making the case for its superiority is more about tying up that unfinished business than it is about saving the world from ignorance. If you need to get something off your chest, go ahead. But once the importance of religion shrinks to a reasonable size it will be possible to appreciate people for many things which will be more important to you than their religion.

I tend to follow the general tone of my fb friends; if they don't don't troll with political or religious messages, I'm okay not doing it either.
With the exception of equal rights posts. I will absolutely share those.
I post pro-science stuff and share some anti-religion stuff, but not much of anything that's explicitly atheistic.

If you ask, I'll tell. It's why my father's side of the family knows I'm an atheist and my mother's side doesn't. Both sides are Pentecostal fundamentalists, just different flavors. Some people at work know because they asked. I assume that it's not as novel now as it was when it first came up at work when I was in a different division about 13 years ago so I figure most of my current coworkers don't know because the grapevine buzz has died down. I learned later from the first time that I had associates who were hesitant to come to my office because of it and I suddenly got rated 'cold and distant' on surveys which I didn't connect to people knowing I'm an atheist until I heard the previous bit, but it didn't last.
In real life, I'm a teddy bear: a soft touch, a sucker for a sob story. It's hard to believe that people were afraid of me because I'm an atheist, but it's not as common a reaction as it used to be.

I'm not one to go out of my way in the real world to bring it up because it's usually a hit-or-miss and can cause people to instantly have bad feelings about you. Online though, I have a different stance and go out of my way to argue with people who claim to be committed Christians. That's mainly why I make YouTube videos.

I talk about it with my girlfriend, who isn't an athiest-nor agnostic, but more so just open to the idea of both sides and excepting. I try not to push my views on her, but I let her know what I think. The other person I talk to about views on religion is my brother who is/was a born again christian. We would argue a lot at first as he was going through a really preachy stage. Then it died down, and really didn't talk about, but both of us majoring in science related degree programs had us reconnect in a way through science. He has been away at Penn State, so I haven't gotten to see him much, but now I even ponder if he is becoming agnostic. Claiming God is dead and facebook posts, bashing on early earth creationists, ect. He still has a lot of jesus loving friends, but I see him him opening his eyes. I should add, he became religious after going through a tough time of partying and getting his shit together, and like many others, he was attracted to religion when he was very down on his luck, per say. I had a hard time dealing with this at first, but it's good to see he's opening his eyes.

Only if a religious person is really annoying me. Like if they get the meaning of atheism wrong or say something stupid like "all these atheist hate god". All my family are atheist/agnostic so there isn't any problems with them.

No. I think that if people know I don't believe in any gods they will view me through that filter and that pisses me off. I am more than my lack of belief in deities. I know, I know, it could be argued therein lies the reason I should discuss it. I've had that argument with myself too.

Not specifically but those who know me realize I am not a religious man.
I'm lucky in that I've only had one person try and proselytize to me.
