Optimum self-sufficiency is a desirable trait, but only with a rigid military structure ruling over it.
His army of anarchists would only be as effective as a mob of rioters instead of a real army.
Though I kinda think that he wishes to be the one to rule such a mob.
He said in a few discussions that we did that he saw himself as a leader type of some sorts.
He's obviously got delusions of granduer

No, I don't think so. I think he's rather qualified in how he manages to get everyone's attention, and leading them to the direction he desires.

I don't have delusions of grandeur, I know I am a capable leader. Maybe not take over the world capable, but I intend to be a philosopher one day.

In my heart I am an anarchist. Unfortunately my brain then kicks in to say that it is stupid.

Leadership goes against the idea of anarchy as I understand it.

Leadership goes against the idea of anarchy as I understand it. No, everyman must be his own leader. Leadership of one's self is essential to anarchism. Furthermore, revolutions often need leaders, even anarchist ones. But alas, leading the revolution is not for me, that is for the ubermensch.

This is the best post in this thread. I think anyone that loves freedom should have a spirit of anarchy. However you have to recognize that society would crumble if everyone adopted it as a life style.
I don't like being governed but it would suck if there were no government at all. We just need to manage the government we have and shape it into something that shows respect to everyone and is not overbearing.

"Communist free market"
I've tried to explain to him that while free-market socialism is perfectly coherent, free-market communism isn't. Socialism is simply the abolition of the private ownership of capital. Communism is that plus wealth redistribution and social justice. Communism is the Atheism+ of socialism.

Socialism is the workers owning the means of production. Socialism isn't necessarily opposed to private ownership of the means of production. Some socialists like Benjamin Tucker superted preserving private property & merely redistributing it among the workers.

Why would you want to abolish private property?
