Windows 8 automatic repair loop

RE: Windows 8 automatic repair loop
The biggest distinction I see that sets Windows apart is game support. If you want to play games, go for Windows. And also M$ office... for some reason the open document format isn't catching on as it should, and libre office looks to much like M$ office 97.
Apart from those two things, Windows has no real benefit.
In fact, being closed source, you can be sure there's something in there that's doing something you'd rather it didn't.
Unlike Linux, which is open source, meaning that any backdoors or illegitimate data collection "features" are screened by the community.

On the other hand... in a few months time, Valve is putting out their steamOS, a Linux based OS for gaming! Wink

The office issue us a big one. Oo.org is the only reason I keep a partition with Windows on it. Other than that, ubuntu has been perfect for me.

I accidentally formatted a 2 TB recently. You know you have too much stuff when you lose multi-terabyte drives and don't care.

Reinstall fresh. As absurd as it sounds, sometimes it's the quickest way to a solution, including all the reinstalling, than going round and round with a problem.

I tried doing that but it said there was a problem while refreshing. Tried it again and the same thing several times.

I never had windows 7 it is a new laptop.

I need to find the reciept. I am currently doing that. I hope I find. Under australian consumer laws you don't need the reciept but it is difficult without it.
