GC: two wrongs don't make a right. I shouldn't have to remind you of this, it's kindergarten stuff, but there you go. The slave trade existing today is terrible, but the fact that it does exist in no way excuses the fact that it was biblically sanctioned in the past, and that your good book is not so good because of it.
What you've said isn't even an argument! It doesn't address the issue at all. Would you excuse the fall using the same logic? "Oh, Adam sinned against god, but there's fruit theft going on today, and where's god in all that? What right has he to punish us, when millions of apples go missing every day!"
Don't make me fucking laugh.
I wouldn't dream of bring a laugh to you. I wasn't making an argument, I made a point that everyone has neglected to answer. I wasn't even going to say anything about it till you chimed in, so what are you doing to help free people from the slave trade of today, Christians are going in and smuggling them out where they can, while you sit on your little butt and do nothing. By the way the Adam thing fails, what an incredibly dense person you are, you can't even see the simplest things scripture offers.
GC
You said you wanted to get the op back on track.
And then you "tu quoque" the shit out of it.
Christ on a cracker!!.......you're dense.

So you are personally one of the people going in and smuggling these slaves out or are you one of the millions of christians taking credit for something that a handful of TRULY brave christians are doing and using that to point fingers at those outside your group? I'm pretty sure there are non-christians doing this as well.

And when christians say.... oh that was the old testament and we dont do that anymore.. really!! A god use to allow that...DUMB JUST DUMB SHIT!!
Without the MYTHS of the old testament there is NO reason for a messiah to begin with - so it they claim that one - call them on it and ask them to read 1 Timothy 2 - which says
"8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. 9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women[c] will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety."
So a woman but be in FULL submission to a man - must be quiet - - and pregnant. And they should not wear elaborate hair styles, gold, pearls - or expensive clothes.
ANd then tell the woman arguing with you that she is a devil - since she obviously does not obey the bible!!!!

Yes, GC. Yes it does fail. That was the point.
It fails for the same reason your position does.

...........and where in the Bible does it say it is wrong to own another human being as property?
Watching a movie in school about American Slavery. They used religion as an aid, to support slavery, but it was really just about money. Reminds me of gay marriage... (Although not for money, for hate).
