Maybe you're right. And this is what I have been hearing all my life since my birth. Its not that m obsessed with my life. I want to make my life important. But sometimes these sentiments take rise in my mind. How would you compare a person who spent his life fighting for his country and died as a martyr with one who just did his job , say teaching or painting. Whose life was more important and made an impact ?? Both turned to dust in the end. Didnt they ??

Chad32 ! I appreciate your input. How's your life been different if you had made a concrete plan earlier in your life ?? Do you sometimes regret that you never made a plan ??

If I had a concrete plan, I'd probably still be working at a restaurant somewhere. Prepping food in the kitchen or something. Although a lot of places near where I live only really get busy during the summer, or mostly have part time work. I don't know if I'd really open a business anywhere, but making a little cafe somewhere that's a little remote while still being in a residential area could be cool. I'd probably try to make it 5-10 miles from another restaurant, so I don't have much competition.

I do regret that I never made a real plan sometimes, mostly because I'm unemployed now. I didn't go to college, and I don't really have skills that other people don't have. I didn't really have much interest in kitchen work until I had been working at my first non family owned business for a year or so. It grew on me eventually.

People make a difference in your life. They teach you things no matter what their profession is. There are some very important people to me, right now, who have been "dust" for years. Their affect on me still exists to this day. And I still think of them often.

So from your opinions , I have concluded the following. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Life is not meaningless. Our dreams guide us to our purpose in our lives. No matter what happens in the end , we should have dreams in this world. M entitled for a short stay here. And if I can make my life a beacon of hope for others , that would be like my purpose is done. Every dream and every profession is respectable. The difference between a non-dreamer and a dreamer is evident to the humanity around him. Dreams can enable me to develop myself and push myself to the limits. At the same time , they will be a step in improving this world. If I have accomplished something in this life , I would die peacefully knowing that my life didnt go to waste.

The profession does not matter at all. If its teaching, I can dream to be the best teacher in this world and produce the best pupils of time. If its painting, I can dream to impart a sense of hope and beauty to the people through my paintings. Even if its serving dishes to the people, I can dream to be the best waiter in the world. I can dream to be the kind of waiter whose absence will be felt by those he serves. In the end , we all die. But I will be better than the person who didnt pursue his dream at all.

Making a plan assumes you now know more than you will in the future. Of course it is possible to know enough now to provide for your future but you should allow wiggle room for your perspective to grow and expand, perhaps put aside the Koran.

You don't even need to consider your job.

It's the personal relationships and how you deal with those that can make your life worth living. Not just to you but to a very many people.
