I don't care how smart you make the guns....there are too many stupid people walking around with them.
Quote:WEWOKA, OK, 2/08/14: The life of an 8-year-old boy was claimed Saturday in a tragic accident. Katie, a Wewoka resident, said, “Everyone is talking about it. Everybody’s mourning about it.” On Saturday, officials say 8-year-old Lane Azlin slipped on ice while hunting. As he fell, his .22 pistol went off, causing him to shoot himself. A short time later, Lane died from his injuries. It happened just north of the town of Wewoka. While not everyone in town knew Lane, most know of his family. Undersheriff Chris Conn, with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, said, “I know the mother and father, they’re very good people and probably taught him everything he would need to know about safety with the gun.” Conn added, “One of the kids said the kid slipped on some ice, everything points to that’s what happened.” The sheriff’s office tells us they have ruled this an accidental shooting and no charges will be filed in the case.

If it comes to that, you have a much bigger problem than "do I have guns?"
The military has much bigger shit than the populace, at this point. This isn't the 1700's.

Screw that gun! I would never buy that crap. I'm glad I already have real guns that go bang every time I pull the trigger and don't need batteries or a watch.

Quote:In 2000, 174 children (0-18) in the United States died from unintentional firearm-related injuries. Unintentional injuries are usually caused when children play with guns or are hunting.
Unintentional injuries from firearms represent less than two percent of all firearm deaths in the U.S. But of this two percent, children and adolescents are involved in 55% of these deaths. The majority of the injuries occur to children playing with or showing the weapons to friends. The easy availability of firearms is believed to be the number one risk factor for unintentional firearm deaths.

Ah, yes.... another responsible gun owner....
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/palm-be...6543.story
Quote:Chambers said his brother – who has not been named by authorities – is a responsible gun owner, and the two of them were taught gun safety from a young age. He described his brother as a great dad to Zuri and her little sister, saying he worked nights to stay home with his girls during the day.
"My brother is the most wonderful father in the world," Chambers said.
Yep...he's just one kid short, now.

There are a lot of other things killing people. Why don't we put a breathalyzer in every vehicle as a safety feature?

Why did you put that as a bad idea?

You assumed that. It's a great idea don't you think? Now run out and get one for your car.

I would, even though I don't drink. If they were standard, I wouldn't have had to repaint the door of my car when some drunk asshole scraped the hell out of it, so... hey.

That's a pain in the ass. I'm cool if they start building them into cars.
