The world needs atheists because God knows that half the population of the world is sick of theists regardless of these people being theists themselves. The manner in which the WikiHow articles approaches this subject matter is bizarre as it only builds upon the Christian heart to prepare them for the near impossible. Christianity is a dying horse and has ran out of arguments to counter the arguments of other religions. If Christianity was an honest religion it would be the most violent, brutal and atrocious religion in history. The issue though is that the vast Majority of Christians are ignorant or profound liars as it is a doctrine based upon deceit and lying. The Christian faith proclaims to worship a god of profound love yet he casts you to hell for eternity for not loving him back. This is almost always skipped or given a two faced approach. The Christian majority are profound liars while Muslims perform taqlid obeying the Sunnah of a dead prophet and retain their honesty.
Christians cannot convert anyone unless they lie and lie very often. When Christians were left unable to convert by the sword they used deceit. William Lane Craig is one such example as he is a serpent wearing human clothes who cannot even make a sound philosophical argument and he supposedly has a PhD in this subject matter.

Conversion in the Christian sense just means to sharpen your tongue and hone in your lies into emotional areas of human being and multiply your deceit into a facade of truth.

Lol. Yeah it's not like any of us struggled to convince ourselves that the more comforting ideas of faith were true, even against all evidence and common sense... and still utterly failed to do so. You have no intellectual defense for Christianity. "Apologetics" is nothing more but smoke and mirrors.

I was an atheist LONG before I'd heard of those "professional scoffers"

Perhaps you should apply that argument to the sheep who follow religion without bothering to do question it.

I've never heard an atheist say, "No matter what proof you ever have for your god I'll never believe it!"

I have heard theists, numerous times, say, "No matter how conclusive the evidence tat god doesn't exist or that the bible is wrong, I'll always believe in the bible!"

THAT is a sheep!

Sadly the majority of people are sheep. Atheism is no free pass. A "Free thinking atheist" is a mythical creature. A meaningless cliché to get you hung by.
