If you have parents who are immature, then it may be hard for you, but if they like it or not they have grow up and let their kids be who they want to be.

would you tell your parents one day that you are an atheist ?
|
Well they already know I am so yes. My dad's okay with it, my mom is accepting but says she doesn't like using the word 'atheist.'
Mega Harry Potter and Stan Marsh fan.
Told my parents years ago.....
But they're both atheists too so it was ok. If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.
Told both of my parents at 16. My mom said she'll accept me no matter what because I'm her son (aww thanks Mom, love you too ^_^), but then again, she's not religious at all. Since I told her, I've come to suspect that she's been at least a deist (quite possibly an agnostic or atheist though) all along; she just never said anything to keep peace in our home since my dad really loves Jesus. He has pictures of the Virgin Mary and Jesus around the house. When he found out about my atheism, he tried to have a talk with me telling me that it's just Satan talking to me, but that didn't work out to say the least. He still loves me, but he's finally gotten to the point where he knows that nothing he says is going to work on me, so he's stopped trying.
I'm glad I didn't have to go through what some people go through when they come out as atheists to their parents.
Yes, of course. I have told my mom about my faith, or lack there of. She actually told me that my grandfather is agnostic--which came as a huge surprise. I've never spoken to my grandfather about his beliefs but hope to one day.

Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
I guess I told my mom but don't remember it, because she makes Facebook comments every once in a while about how she doesn't understand that my brother and I are atheist. I didn't know my brother was either but he's a smart math genius so it makes sense.
I don't think my dad knows, not like I'm hiding it I just don't think it's important, he loves jesus and stuff so I'll just let him be. I don't got no phonics I don't need to english
I answered 'yes' in the poll but it was never an issue for me. My parents brought me up to use my brain and in fact they would be more surprised if I told them I was anything other than atheist.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
