I've had it a few times. Usually my neck will hurt a lot, and it will be really hard to move to get into a more comfortable position.

I've had it twice as a teenager. Once with a visual hallucination, the other time with an auditory hallucination.
The first time I awoke to find a malevolent old crone standing over me, hand outstretched, inching ever closer towards me. Eventually I was able to move, threw my covers up and attacked the space the crone was occupying with my fists. The second time I heard children's music. But not cheerful happy children's music, oh-no, creepy off-key and slow children's music, like they would play in any horror film to creep you the hell out. The demonic children's laughter that accompanied the tune didn't help.
Nemo me impune lacessit.

I have always wanted to create a film whereby a boy starts seeing this hag when he is young. She gets closer every year until she is by his bed when he gets to around 30... The rest writes itself.
