Without just saying it doesn't exist, how can I reason with myself not to fear any religion's eternal damnation in the afterlife? Help please.

How do I not fear hell?

What does hell look like?
Do you fear Mordor? Apply that to hell.
I would weigh the eivdence put forth for hell.
Once you see that it is nil, there's notithing to fear.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
People have already gone over this in a thread you posted previously. It's pretty simple. If God is benevolent and fair, he won't sentence you to eternal torture unless you actually deserve it (and it's pretty difficult to imagine an offense that would make you deserve it, I guess it could be argued that rape or starting a holocaust qualifies).

If you ask in such generality, it really does boil down to "It very very likely doesn't exist" for all these possibilities, you know...

But my parents and over half the world think there's some eternal torture after death, even after all the scientific knowledge has become readily available to people.
