RE: Why did God murder children for making fun of a bald guy?
March 29, 2014 at 3:44 pm
If it could be proven beyond doubt that God exists...
and that He is the one spoken of in the Bible...
would you repent of your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ?
Sorry - but in the Bible - there is NOT a single place where the christ claims to be GOD - NONE at all.
However - the god of the bible is the Jewish GOD - not the christ. The bible states that the messiah will ultimately join the ENTIRE universe in an era of complete peace - and acceptance of the Jewish god and religion and the only true religion - and that ALL others are wrong. ( (Zechariah)
So - if Ultimately you are going to become jewish - WHY not reject the xtian faith and accept Judaism NOW?

Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number.”
I love how the murderous, bloodthirsty bears are female as well. Females really can't do anything good in the Bible, can they?
I've heard Christians explain before that 42 is a large number of people, and so God sent the bears to protect the man. So...people are murdered and raped every day, and have been since time began, and yet we see no angry, mauling bears to protect these people?
May I also add, in the passage, the man does not ask for help from God in a frightened way - he curses them, which implies to me he did this in anger, not fear.
Also, how is it even possible that the bears caught ALL 42 of these kids? If two bears came out of nowhere and began to attack your group, wouldn't you run for safety?
The bears would have to be pretty bloody quick to kill 21 each before any of them had time to flee in terror. And we all know fear makes you run fast.
I know it sounds like I'm nitpicking but how can anyone possibly defend or explain this passage?
.
THere are LOTS of things in the bible that make NO sense - and cannot be supported - even by the Xtians who claim it to be inerrant.
YOU do not have to nitpick to see them
WHy is the correct way to treat a son who disobeys is to STONE him to death?
Where did the god store the CHILDREN and INFANTS who could NOT have sinned (And if they have free will -then he cannot punish for something they did not do yet - because they can change their mind) - in the great flood?
Or in Sodom and Gomorrah?
What did the average Egyptian first born male do to deserve to be MURDERED in the passover - when the bible clearly says that they are responsible for themselves but not for the sins of their ruler?
Why should a person be HAPPY to crush the childrens of the Amaleks heads against a rock and kill them?
The bible is a horrendous and ruthless book - that should not be read by children - and if read - read the WHOLE book from front to back.

God is great and omnipotent. God can make miracles. He could have cured the man of his male pattern baldness. But noooo.... He sends bears to murder the children who tease him instead.
Its almost like some ancient jew who was bat shit crazy made the whole story up.

It's almost as if said Jew's view of god was like the DarkMatter2525 representation of god.
"I could just give this guy a full head of hair... or I could send some bears to maul these little shits. "

The story is actually about a group of kids who insulted the Emperor's envoy. So the envoy sent his guards to kill them. It's what Saddam or the North Korean dictator would do without a second thought. The moral of the story is "don't insult the ruler or his ambassador." The Bible has a lot of passages repeating that same idea. Jesus told several such stories.

Sorry - but in the Bible - there is NOT a single place where the christ claims to be GOD - NONE at all.
He said that He existed before Abraham (John 8:58), and that He was equal with the Father (John 5:17, 18). Jesus claimed the ability to forgive sins (Mark 2:5–7), which the Bible teaches was something that God alone could do (Isaiah 43:25). Furthermore in John 10 when Jesus asked the people why they wanted to stone Him, they replied, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God” (John 10:33, NASB). Also in John 14:8-10 it is recorded: 8Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." 9Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father '? 10"Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.…

The God of the Bible is the Jewish God who promised the Christ. (Daniel 9:25-26)

Technically Jews will become Christians, they will accept the messiah i.e. Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:13-16
13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: 14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
Romans 11:7-11
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; unto this day. 9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
Romans 11:25-27
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
If it could be proven beyond doubt that God exists... and that He is the one spoken of in the Bible... would you repent of your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ?
