Okay, let's examine that: since we're supposedly fundamentalist, are you saying that I could go into a church in the middle of a service and interrupt it to talk about how god isn't real, without being evicted? Dodgy

And if we're fundamentalist, then I suppose all the christian forums that ban dissenters entirely are even worse... Thinking

Not that I accept your premise that churches exist for non-members, anyway. Christian churches exist for their members, and are utterly disinterested in those that aren't at all amenable to becoming one. Granted, that's a generalization, but... well, better than an equivocation, right? Dodgy

Now now, honey. When I was super sick and in need I went to a church and the pastor gave me $200 to pay for my prescriptions. I wasn't a member, and never attended services; he just talked to me about my relationship with Jesus and helped me.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

You were already a member of the Jesus-club, dear. Little point in treating one of the faithful poorly. Frodo seems to be implying that I'd be treated better if I espoused my beliefs in a church, than he is espousing his here.

I expect that would not really be the case.

Churches made pulpits, what I like described as being 6 foot above contradiction. Street services are more real, and sure, they love dissenters. Eviction is sometimes necessary, if it's justified.

I didn't say this site was fundamentalist. I said it was "more fundamentalist" given my comparison.

That's not my invention, that saying. Churches see their raison d'etre to be the bringing of all souls to Christ. Do you not know this?

A secondary consideration is the retention of those already won over of course.

But you haven't made a case as to why my observations about the similarities are not there.
