It is often minds of great genius that are readily accused of being 'crazy’. The opinions of others (including so-called 'professional' opinions) is hardly an acid test for determining ones conscious experience and mental state, nor can one truly experience the consciousness of another. Is it not those who generally differ from the larger community that are the most easily labeled as 'this' or 'that', and marginalized? Perhaps it is the 'craziest' among us who are in fact the most sane of all

TC, I just wanted to say something I've noticed about you and it's this--you put yourself down a lot. Yes, you are obsessed with sex ![Big Grin Big Grin](https://atheistforums.org/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) and have a quirky personality, but you're also very intelligent and have a lot going for you, if you stop to look at it.
Don't put yourself down. We all need to make improvements. I hope you take that in a positive way, cuz that's how I mean it. :>)

Feelin kinda weak and shaky cuz it's hard to eat anything and the cotton mouth makes it harder. I feel so exhausted that I'll lay down sure that sleep is near by, then suddenly a rush of energy, like a fierce gust of wind, inspiration, flight of thoughts, or sexual arousal leads to some behavior like pacing around (posting on this site lol), goin for a walk or jog.
This phase will end with a crash and burn.
Do you have any routines that you go through when having trouble shutting off your brain and getting sleep?
I found that the absolute best thing I could do to snap of a manic phase (and usually avoid the crash and burn) was to make sure I never go more than two days straight without at least 6 hours of sleep.

My short answer is 'yes'.
The explanation has a few more syllables.
Perhaps I will create a thread that invites more such questions. For now, I hope I have satisfied your curiosity.

You've left it a mystery so little satisfication of curiousity.
But it does answer the question

Still the mind. Drink chamomile tea, think about something that produces a pleasant relaxing feeling, walk, read, recognize that 100 years from now none of this bullshit will matter,...
Not sure about a routine

Id rather be hiv positive and have a sound stable mind than be mentally ill and offensive to people.
The good thing is with a cell one can record oneself while manic and on drugs and in my case realize how obnoctious and annoying I am and stay sober and keep great custody of the mouth and behavior when in such conditions.
The problem when high, manic, or delusional the behavior makes sense and seems rational and you just assume others know where you are coming from or have the same sense of humor.

That's pretty much what I was referring to. I've found the same types of things useful when I've had trouble sleeping. (And I've found that getting a decent amount and quality of sleep one of the key things I can do to stay well.)

I've been having manic episodes off and on for 25 years and I didn't find out until this last episode that I have pressured speech when I'm manic. I suppose I could have guessed, but much of the behavior is invisible to you when you're manic. Judgement about so many things is just right out the window when you're manic. Until I found out about the pressured speech, I thought that I likely appeared fairly normal when manic. "Whoosh!" I was totally clueless! Knowing that I can be rather mouthy when normal, I feel sorry for the people who have had to deal with me when manic. When I get manic, I become hostile and aggressive. Reflecting on it, I'm sure that, too, looks worse from the outside. If I notice my hostility from the inside while manic, I must appear a right bitch to people looking at it from the outside.
