A different view of God

A different view of God
Not everyone views god like the Christians…

“In the comic book series, Pinhead is depicted as the latest incarnation of the cenobite spirit Xipe Totec, an entity derived from Aztec mythology.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinhead_(Hellraiser)

“He flayed himself to give food to humanity, symbolic of the way maize seeds lose their outer layer before germination and of snakes shedding their skin. Without his skin, he was depicted as a golden god. Xipe Totec was believed by the Aztecs to be the god that invented war.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xipe_Totec

Then again Jesus was supposedly God-Crucified much like God-Flayed.

RE: A different view of God
I am unsure what the point of the thread is.

If it is that mankind will always formulate a deity to coincide with his own subjective views, that is nothing new. That is all any mythological deity is, in essence, mankind's fallibleness transferred to a higher authority.

There are many views of zombies too.

Some move fast, some move slow.

Some only like brains. Others aren't too picky.

RE: A different view of God
There are going to be differing views on anything that we can't empirically study. Which is why you have debates on whether vampires can drink animal blood or not, or if they burst into flames in the sun or just grow weak, can they sleep outside a coffin, what exactly are their powers? Since we don't have actual vampires, we don't have hard data. It's the same with gods. How many there are, how powerful they are, what do they want, do they need our prayers? We don't know, because we haven't found any.
