And if you mime eating steak over a plate with nothing on it? Dodgy

Swear to god, I'm so fucking sick of having to correct christian analogies for them! Angry

Church of the flying spaghetti is defiantly not miming.

If you really don't understand what a parody is, how are you so good at turning yourself into one?

Tilting at windmills is a human trait, not specifically an atheist trait. People find innumerable ways to waste time when there are better things to do. This has a positive aspect: if theists were all as dedicated as one would expect them to be, they'd be much more invasive and obnoxious than just the relative few nutcase fundamentalists out there.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Okay, just... fuck...

Listen: do you, or do you not, actually think that there is even a single person in the world who truly believes that the flying spaghetti monster is a real thing? Dodgy

Not that it even matters! Because believing in a deity for realio would make someone a theist, and not an atheist, hence no inconsistency.

I'm just going off of what they claim

from their website.

Quote:Q: Is this a joke?
A: It’s not a joke. Elements of our religion are often described as satire and there are many members who do not literally believe our scripture, but this isn’t unusual in religion – it’s only more obvious in the case of our particular religion. A lot of Christians, for example, don’t believe the Bible is literally true – but that doesn’t mean they aren’t True Christians.

If you say Pastafarians must believe in a literal Flying Spaghetti Monster to be True Believers, then you can make a similar argument for Christians. There is a lot of outlandish stuff in the Bible that rational Christians choose to ignore. We do the same with our scripture. This is intentional.

maybe it's a joke maybe not, but they are defiantly trying to be recognized as a legit religious institution.

Popcorn

It's good to see all of you doing the dance with Huggy. Her MO is to be as stupid an obtuse as possible so you'll give up and she can claim victory. Fan-fucking-tastic.

Trolls gonna troll.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

That's usually the case when you're the noncustodial parent, as if it's any of your business.

Yyyyep... and I think they're trying to make a, you know, a point with that?

I know you know what it is. Don't ask me what it is, because you already know it. Dodgy
