Absolutely. 'Real time' referencing and conversations with others from around the globe helps out no end.
It's also a repositiry for literally tonnes of information, not only to back up claims of Science but you can see the spectrum from a religious point of view and an atheist point of view.
I've no doubt, being around forums like this, YouTube, eBooks etc... has helped me see truth(s) through reason which I wouldn't have been able to reference without the Internet.

That's odd. I am an American and I don't feel debauched.
Who said you have to feel debauched for the internet to promote a lifestyle of indulging in sensual pleasures? Wouldn't you think that if you live in it that it becomes normal to you? However relative to other religion based cultures we are way more loose with our behaviors, and the internet is promoting this looseness.

I'm under the impression that the internet has already begun the erosion process of religion. Especially for the millennial's who are growing up more inoculated to superstition.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

I doubt it.
Many atheist websites (at least the ones in English) are just as bad as the Fundie sites regarding their academic credibility. It's become a tit for tat game between both groups on how much damage they can do to themselves.
I don't believe what the internet offers would really change the mind of someone from faith to unbelief. It's just adding more fuel to the fire for those who already have doubts about what they had been told to believe.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I get what you're trying to say, and with myself as an evidence,I'd like to say that you are so so wrong .
Internet was was not just the catalyst for myself becoming an atheist, it also was the beginning spark .
Thank you internet for enlightening me .

No, I don't think it will change the minds of those entrenched. It can help those who aren't, though.

If an atheist site has even a smidgen of credibility, it is way ahead of any fundie site - they have none whatsoever, they are simply laughable.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

That smidgen of credibility might be a curse...if a website 10% right, it could be worse than being 100% wrong in terms of what is posted online.
