It's obvious that it would be a huge factor for reasons already described in the video as well as in the replies here.
It should be very, very startling to the religious that better education and access to more information and people of different cultures is clearly leading to a sharp decline in people being religious. It's a no brainer to most atheists, but I wonder what their take on that is?

Let's not forget the that Americanization of the world promotes a life of debauchery in other cultures which goes against many religions. It's tempting to think that the internet spread's the knowledge needed for others around to world to liberate themselves from religion. But, is it doing that, or just promoting elements of western culture that dictate a lifestyle free of religious dogma.
PM me if you know where this is from "...knees in the breeze" and don't look it up!!

That's odd. I am an American and I don't feel debauched.

"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! I like controversial discussions that challenge common viewpoints. People in the real world don't.
