Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

That wont work because at some point there'd be fox holes and you know you can't have atheists in them. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis. well, let me clarify my point. Based on my personal experience, I can tell you that god does not exist! Furthermore, there is a logical, rational, and systematic explanation for the origins of religious beliefs, namely, cognitive, social and biological mechanisms. Given these undeniable and incontrovertible proofs for the non existence of god, the word atheism implies theism which asserts that there "could be" an invisible man in the sky. lol. so you guys see my point? non belief in god is sane, rational, and realistic. So instead of calling yourselves atheists, call yourselves sane people

It's funny but when I was a theist, I (sometimes) had a noticeable reaction when someone would share with me that he/she is an atheist. Now that I'm an atheist, I find the term unnecessary. The term itself is very innocuous but it has come to automatically be associated with "evil," etc...by many religious people. As if not believing in any god or gods is somehow "evil."
I find that curious. Furthermore, there is a logical, rational, and systematic explanation for the origins of religious beliefs, namely, cognitive, social and biological mechanisms. Given these undeniable and incontrovertible proofs for the non existence of god, Spectrum of Theistic Probability - Dawkins Formulation Quote:Dawkins argues that while there appear to be plenty of individuals that would place themselves as "1" due to the strictness of religious doctrine against doubt, most atheists do not consider themselves "7" because atheism arises from a lack of evidence and evidence can always change a thinking person's mind. In print, Dawkins self-identified as a '6', though when interviewed by Bill Maher[3] and later by Anthony Kenny,[4] he suggested '6.9' to be more accurate. If you have incontrovertible proof of the non existence of god I'm sure Richard Dawkins would love to hear it. ![]() (April 17, 2014 at 12:35 pm)ticktaka Wrote: non belief in god is sane, rational, and realistic.
