That wont work because at some point there'd be fox holes and you know you can't have atheists in them.

You make an excellent argument. Thinking
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

Feach... a portmanteau of 'fish' amd peach', n'est-ce pas?

I'd've gone for "pish" myself.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Probably not, but we could still class him/her as an atheist. Non-belief in god/s and god claims is all it takes.

(Just reiterating your point Smile)

what are you opinions?

Like it or not, the majority of people world-wide believe in some variety of nonfalsifiable religion. As irrational as it may be, it still totally makes sense for them to have a word to describe us.

This is most ideal life anyone can wish for. So why is there a word such as atheism to describe us sane, rational people? The word atheism implies an extreme position in the spectrum of beliefs. However, it is the most rational and sane life that anyone can hope for. It is ultimately the most joyous life that one lead which is free from delusions marked by irrational, bullshit beliefs. it is not in an extreme position. Furthermore sane, rational people like you and I don't need bull shit religion to lead morally sound lives. It does bother me a little that atheism implies an extreme position. Also, theists may think they are providing rational arguments for the existence of God but they are nothing more than vague arguments that often use bullshit beliefs as the basis of argumentation. At the same time, I realize that although religious beliefs are bull shit, it is nevertheless a part of human nature to believe in bull shit like religion, but that does not mean that atheism should be viewed as an extreme position because it is rational, sane, and realistic. I think ultimately evolution will eliminate religion from society Tongue what are you opinions?

Six 'bullshits' in one post. Gosh, good thing you don't swear.

The reason there is a word to describe nonbelievers is simple. The theists outnumber us so we kinda go against the grain. Hopefully in the future it will change. The theists will be referred to as nonrationalists.

This is because there is no such thing as natural selection or survival of the fittest anymore.

lol Sorry, I got carried away there for a moment.

Not entirely. Most detrimental diseases that cause death before the person has children will be wiped out with natural selection. The same applies to diseases that cause infertility. Some detrimental diseases like AIDS will not go away unless they come up with a cure, which I doubt will happen. However, I generally agree with you that human evolution is no longer dictated by "the survival of the fittest". Maybe someone else has a different view on that.
