Despite what all those people said in the thread, I'd still like to advice you to get a transitional relationship.
Get someome in your year (don't know if that works in your country) that looks like he would want to be with with you possibly and try with him. Someone you would like for his looks, preferrably. And he is interested in you. This is what men do when they get dumped, basically.

I would echo what all the others have said here Sedna. This is a time for YOU!
I agree with Narwhal, this guy hates confrontations, as evidenced by him "breaking down and confessing to cheating on you"
Betrayal is what you are feeling, it is a great motivator. Once you get that, you are free to focus on yourself, your studies and your own life. A person who is comfortable with themselves is VERY attractive! And will not lack for attention.
Let him go. You had 4-5 years of a greatime so leave it at that. Stabilise yourself for your next adventure.
