Are children wards of society? What makes society's judgment more correct than the parents?

I don't think that "this child is sick and dying, and all the parents are doing is thinking really hard about wellness," is a scenario that's loaded with subtlety, though.

I honestly believe that anyone who believes faith healing helps should automatically not be allowed around children. If you want to pray while your child is in the hospital being attented to by doctors, that's fine. If you believe the prayer is the main cause of your child getting better, that's not fine.

That does seem to fall neatly into "danger to self and others".
