2: There are three surviving hymns to him, one by Homer and the other two known as the Delphic hymns. Why would anyone write hymns to him if he doesn't exist?
3: There are stories about him. Why would there be stories about a god who doesn't exist?
4: A quick look round the internet shows that some people still worship him and pray to him. Why would 21st century people worship a god who doesn't exist?
I don't believe in the God of the Bible because he's never appeared to me in a dream. If he ever does I'll have to accept that he exists as well. After all, there are cathedrals/churches dedicated to his worship, people sing hymns to him and pray to him and there are a lot of stories about him.
Your conclusions that Apollo exist did not come from your dream, the dream is what moved you to search. By the same idea most people search for God because of the Bible instead of a dream, they find their evidence and believe.

I've been hoping that a Christian would post in this topic.
Many Christians believe that they can feel God's presence. I felt the presence of a pagan deity in that dream. Do you think that other people worshipping this deity, telling stories about him and writing hymns to him etc. provides real evidence that Apollo exists? Does the fact that the sun rises every day prove that he exists? After all, he's a sun god.
I have the kind of brain which produces odd, subjective experiences which is why I'm very interested in neuroscience. I've felt presences, seen ghosts and have also seen a shadowy female figure rising from a pond. Most of the time these experiences just happen out of the blue but, by experimenting, I've learned how to switch over to to what I call my New Age Perception whenver I want to. I switched over to it this morning and made this topic about it -
My "New Age Perception" - The Goddess Is "Real"
I've been interested in mythology, folklore and other religions since I was a child and I'm now 65 years old. I find the Bible very interesting from that point of view. I've never been moved to search for the Christian God any more than I've been moved to search for any other deity, however, because I'm an atheist. For some reason my brain never produces Christian imagery even though I love old churches and cathedrals. It's always pagan material.

I now renounce my ways as an atheist and will worship Apollo! You have proven without a doubt he exists, I have no choice

Even better...Apollo appears in an old book doing all sorts of amazing shit.
Quote:Thus did he pray, and Apollo heard his prayer. He came down furious from the summits of Olympus, with his bow and his quiver upon his shoulder, and the arrows rattled on his back with the rage that trembled within him. He sat himself down away from the ships with a face as dark as night, and his silver bow rang death as he shot his arrow in the midst of them. First he smote their mules and their hounds, but presently he aimed his shafts at the people themselves, and all day long the pyres of the dead were burning.

I saw Apollo on Battlestar Galactica along with literally millions of eyewitnesses. Of course he's real.

If Apollo exists, there is a higher probability that the sun would rise than if he didn't exist. The sun rising is evidence that a god made it rise. That god is Apollo by definition.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
