What time is of more value? Perpetual vs finite.
May 10, 2014 at 1:48 pm
It can be said since we have a limited time and we are bound to run out, that makes our time more of value and every moment is more important then if we had forever in the future.
It can also be said if we live forever, our time is of more value since it has a perpetual effect and consequence in the future as opposed to just ending with our time no longer effecting the future.
It seems it's all a matter of perspective?

Some will say life is meaningless because we're here for less than a century before we die. Some say it's more valuable because that's a big part of what gives things value in life. This special vase I have is incredibly valuable because it's one of a kind, or they really don't make them like they used to. Whereas if I had a billion vases, I wouldn't be upset if one was broken.
Yes, human life is short. The only thing that can remain after we die are the memories of the people who knew us, and the changes we made to society. Though even this world is finite, and when it's gone it will just be one of many planets that came and went before it.
Despite things in limited quantity generally being more valuable than things that aren't, one of the greatest draws of religion is the idea that you will live forever. What exactly you'd do with forever isn't really something I can comprehend. Sure there are lots of things I could do, if I had the opportunity. An eternity of things, though? I'm not too sure.
Descriptions of heaven seem to be kind of vague in the bible. Everyone will be happy, and worshiping their lord and savior. The devil is in the details, after all, and we all know how against critical thinking religion can be.

Who cares, as long as it's lunchtime!
If you knew you could only have one proper meal in your entire life, instead of (say) nutrients to keep you alive, would you cram everything down your throat as quickly as possible or take the time to savour each and every bite?
If you had infinite food, what would be the point of even trying to enjoy the meal?

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

It depends.
If you believe the quran then you would most likely come to the conclusion that it's important that you keep believing in the quran while you're alive.
If you don't the all forgiving ever merciful benificent lord will force you into a fire, roast you until your flesh is thoroughly burned and consumed totally by fire then everytime you're roasted through replace your skin so that it can be burned and roasted through again to ensure you feel maximum pain each time.
That's just what you get when you fuck with the merciful one.
Quote:Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses - We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted in Might and Wise.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
