What is inside us is a mystery. When we give it names, and forms, and personalities, we have forgotten the mystery.

God lives within us faith.

I just wanted to take this moment to share another awkward but proud parenting moment. My daughter Leli and my aunt
Leli- well if god is real then where is he? Aunt- he lives in you, Leli, he's in your heart Leli-*look of horror and disgust* How do I get him out!?!? That's nasty. He has germs! She said she believes God lives inside us all. I know what she meant and she made the point not to take it too literally. I think that if you believe in something with utter devotion, sometimes your mind can make things up out of thin air. Just like hypochondriacs do with illness.. I think in their mind they actually believe they are hurt and their brain even makes them feel pain. I remember a while back i was hanging lights for my grandma for "Christmas" and had a few nails in-between my lips to hold them. I remember taking a big breath in then loosing grip of the nails. I thought i had aspirated a nail.. but wasn't sure.. Throughout that whole night all i could think of was "what if there's a nail inside my lung" I actually started feeling pain in my chest, even my breathing got raspy. The next day i went to the hospital.. had ex rays done.. guess what? no nail. I instantly stopped feeling pain in my chest area and felt extremely dumb. The nurse told me it happens all the time.. The brain can be a tricky thing.. To answer your question, no i don't think god is living inside me. Just like i don't think god is living inside an insect.. or a fish. I think us humans want to feel special.. create something that differs from other animals on this planet. But in the end, i think the world is just as black and white as we see it. No magic. No fairy tales. All we can do is grow and learn.. and i think religion just holds us back. Just my 2 cents.
In a universe full of infinite possibilities what can happen, will happen.

The deities in the Bible and the Koran don't live in people.
I think a leprechaun lives in me or maybe it's a unicorn.

However, until you claim that your personal subjective experience is a reason for others to share your beliefs, good on ya, and I hope your philosophy towards life brings you happiness.
NOT logic:
1. Claim to have logic 2. Throw a tantrum when asked to present it 3. Claim you've already presented it 4. Repeat step 1 *Rampant.A.I.'s quote
God is certainly inside you, in a special place we call your imagination. Well done for recognising that.

Pay it no mind. (May 10, 2014 at 7:18 pm)MysticKnight Wrote: I think if God would write words in the sky saying he exists, it would make faith dry and too easy and dull. Theists say this all the time, and it just baffles the hell out of me, and I think I can demonstrate why with a bit of ad libbing. "I think if God would write words in the sky saying he exists, it would make pretending to know things I don't know dry and too easy and dull." Quote:I think faith in the unseen and the unseen journey is a more enriching experience. "I think pretending to know things I don't know about the unseen and the unseen journey is a more enriching experience." There we go. Why is faith so important? Why do all you believers have to sit there and act like it's so desperately vital that the things you pretend to know about be really, really unbelievable? What's the deal here? Quote:I feel this is a major difference I have with atheists. I don't want some sort of mathematical proof of God's existence or miracles showing he exists. I rather have this inner reflection and reflection of the divine and build a relationship on God through faith in his unseen names and attributes that seem like foundation to my existence. You would rather pretend to know things that make you comfortable, rather than accepting things that are evidenced and true. I get why that'd be appealing, but surely you understand why it's not at all compelling as an argument?
