Being a porn actor is considered a profession?

RE: Being a porn actor is considered a profession?
Well, maybe it's not a profession in the traditional sense of that word, but at least it's more honest than being a lawyer. [Image: coffeedrinker.gif]

A pornstar is someone who will commit any number of depraved acts, violate other people, sometimes in horribly disgusting ways, take it in every hole for money and act like they enjoy every minute of it.

A lawyer on the other hand...

I'm still not seeing the distinction between a porn star and a lawyer.

Is Dana De Armond a lawyer?

Hmmm, had to Google her.

But from her website, it's clear that she's a cocksucker and a real cunt, so she's certainly qualified to be a lawyer. Thinking

Quote:violate other people
Shouldn't you say: pretend or represent to violate other people? Because well If you sell a rape video it isn't porn it is up 4 to 7 years of prison.

Why not? Is it not a paid employment that require special skills?

It's seems to be a very honorable profession, involves comparatively little deception, not only in comparison to lawyering and being an elected official, but especially in comparison with being a pastor or priest.

I don't know, the great apes practice a form of prostitution - sex in exchange for bug-picking-out-of-hair services.

Is women asking for foreplay service in exchange for sex also a form of prostitution?

I must remember to insist on my mistresses making themselves more respectable.

Yeah but what skills are those? Because if I (well not me because it's not like I'm the best there is , but to make my point I'll adress me[Image: crazy-monkey-emoticon-126.gif]) make a resume of my loving skills and I present them with another porn actor to get a job in the industry imagine that. He says oral sex in his resume, I put oral sex in my resume. He puts capable of during hours I put that as well(of course I might have to practice with a person for a while to say that,[Image: crazy-monkey-emoticon-140.gif] but let's say I did practiced and I achieved it and now I can put it in my resume) I mean all they care it's that one it's willing to do it in front of a camera, and that ain't a matter of skill but a matter of guts. Does that make me a professional?

Just because you get to second base doesn't guarantee that you'll get third nor that she has to let you get third.
Don't ask me how I know that[Image: crazy-monkey-emoticon-194.gif]
And isn't in prostitution the guarantee that you will get third in exchange for something?

A profession is a vocation that requires some type of learning and/or special training(well at least thats the popular concept of profession).
So tell me is being a porn actress a profession?.... the ability to act isn't required and the only thing that matters it's that they can have sex(something anyone with working body parts can do).
The only difference between amateur porn and "professional porn" is the quality of the cameras, the funding, and the number of fans.
And on the other hand modeling it's considering a profession and it share some similarities with porn actresses(and some of the actors),
both need to be attractive, both need to watch their health and figure, both involve in taking orders, both don't need to talk much or be
smart, and in both careers many of their workers are subject of plastic operations in order to stay in the business.
But let's not forget that in the porn industry has clearly double standard depending on the gender of their actors.
So it's a profession for the actress or not the actors? Because the only porn actor that I knew achieved fame was that fat guy from surreal life.
So tell me what do you think?

Judging just from this OP, it would seem you don't find it to be a respectable profession, but it's a profession, nonetheless.

And how do you know they didn't go through ummm....some sort of training? Big Grin

Best post ever!!

Seriously though, I couldn't care less if you think it's a profession. As long as the ones I like keep doing their jobs I'm happy.

Being a porn star is a job, in that you get paid for it.

If you get paid for it you are a professional, regardless of the fact that others may be doing the same thing as an amateur.

So, for example, boxers who fight in the Olympic games are amateurs but they can "go pro" and then they get paid for much the same activity. A poor boxer, with a poor record, gets paid less but they are still regarded as a professional boxer.

I think that if you are a professional in something then that something must be a profession by definition.

I'm not sure the quality of acting is an issue. Some porn stars get paid more than others for doing the same thing. I am guessing acting ability factors in there somewhere.

You might say quality of acting isn't the determining factor on how much you get paid. That might be true but it can also be true of actors:
