A Serious Question For Theists

The only evidence for their being a God should be your personal experience with Him.

You lacking faith is evidence for God.

Are you serious right now?

Oh, I see you are serious.

Seriously?

Is my lack of belief in Chtulhu evidence for Chtulhu too? Can you honestly say that the 40,000 denominations of Christianity all have personal experiences with the same god as you? Or is it more likely that a bunch of people ascribe their own natures to that of their imaginary friend god because its better than spending a time coming to terms with their mortality? Human history and human nature tells me all I need to know about god and the reasons humans lean on a god. Show me why I should believe in (your) god when I can tangibly see an MRI of your brain and a Buddhist monks brain during meditation and the brain reacts the same way. Are you saying you and the Buddhist are both experiencing the same god?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Putting on my Christian hat, I think he might be coming from a presuppotional standpoint, where all thought and logic is contingent upon God's existence, so any sort of thought or discussion is 'evidence' that God exists, since you're able to have those thoughts in the first place. I've heard various presupps even state "the fact that you doubt proves his existence".

Then by that token I can say that the fact that I can logically dismiss god through thought means that god is not real.

You may be right about this. I hope not, though. At first, I thought he was just a moron. Now, considering the presuppositional angle, I may have to conclude that he's a pretentious moron.

Yeah... that's the problem with presupps, any sort of conversation is immediately useless, as anything you say is evidence of God to them. (even denying/doubting God)

Oh, look at that, another theist whipping out unfounded, contrived bullshit and submitting it as truth. Surprise, surprise.

Your lacking faith in Apollo, Odin and Isis must be evidence for those deities as well, then.

What can I say, you even justify yourself in your lack of belief?

Kind of ironic, god boy. You assert the existence of something undetectable but absurd without any justification whatsoever other than your own claimed experiences. Esqy patiently explains why, lacking those alleged experiences, he and we are justified in our lack of belief. For you, apparently, attempting to justify beliefs is a negative. The truth is no one needs to justify any lack of belief in the absence of evidence. It should go without saying.
