Yeah. That's sort of like my cat. She's scared of everything, so she doesn't go too far. She's changed a lot since she was a kitten. Because of the destruction of animals, my house, and me, though (I look like a cutter with the scars all over my arms), I've decided that after she's gone I'm not going to ever have a cat as a pet again.

My cats are indoor cats only. I don't have scratches on my arms. One cat has a flat personality - she is of feral cat stock. I appreciate her detached nature.
The other one is afraid of my voice. However, I can get him to play along nicely. Are you sure you have a cat and not an opossum? I just do not understand how so many people have issues with these small, little felines. They are about as low maintenance as you can get while still being furry and cuddly. I only wish I could somehow attach a disintegrator field to their asses so I wouldn't have to maintain a litter box. I hate litter boxes. Slave to the Patriarchy no more
My cat sits on the step outside the slider glass door to our back yard. About 12 feet away I have several bird feeders which have almost nonstop action. My cat's given up even pretending that she could catch one. The birds have no fear of her.
Of course, maybe that has something to do with the potted catnip I have beside the steps. The cat has now been dubbed Stonie McStonerson. My cat is no longer allowed to sleep with me, because a few weeks ago, she had a bad dream and gouged me in the neck. Shell tells me that her cat, Bella, is apparently beating her up when she shares her bed at night (lucky old Belle). She showed me some of the bruises on her arm today. Yet Bella is such a sweet, innocent little thing; to look at her, butter wouldn't melt and all that. Just shows how easily we humans are taken in by a pair of wide eyes and a strategically placed meow.

And on the flip side of those complaining they kill wildlife, there's an idiot in NZ trying to get cats banned, basically. It seems one of his followers might have something to do with a large number of cats disappearing in a small town in the North Island and the result is that there has been an upsurge in the number of vermin and a lot of bird nests are being raiding by rats and other creatures cats normally control the population of . . .

That's been going on for awhile, Beccs. I read about that guy ages ago. I mean, I kind of get it, but we're talking about the natural order of things, here. Cats kill small animals. They just do. What's the difference between cats killing other animals, and getting rid of cats? I just don't get that "logic".
Incidentally, my last cat, Fuzzbutt (coolest cat evah), was all ready to go to Australia when I moved there, but I couldn't bring myself to put her on the plane, let alone quarantine for three months, so I left her at my mom's house for four months. I've never encountered such a worry free cat as Chairman Meow.

I love Chairman Meow! Sounds a lot like Fuzzbutt. Coolest cat in the world. I didn't have cats growing up; only (big) dogs. But, as an apartment-dweller, and someone in need of a pet, I got Fuzzbutt. She was so effing cool, I didn't have an issue getting another cat a few years after she died. Little did I know, cats are as diverse as humans.
