What's your favorite swear word/insult?

Why do I get the impression that psychoslice swears like a fucking trooper, by his own definition?

For my money, though swearing can be a sign of a limited vocabulary, it has nothing to do with intelligence nor can any inference be drawn in that area - any more than it can be an indicator of sexuality or political preference. I love language, I love painting with words. You have the basic structural words (it, the, and, but etc) which are the pencil sketch lines defining the shape of the painting. Then there is the incredibly rich palette of the English language giving depth and definition. Finally there are the epithets, which to me are akin to the day-glo and metallics; useful in their own way, but garish and tacky if overused.

Indeed, the fact that I just got you to picture language as a painting is evidence that it works.

I balk at any suggestion that my use of language in any of its forms be curtailed and my palette limited.

I Don't know if I should be ashamed or proud, but faggot has been really growing on me this past month or two. Damn it Louis CK, you're turning me into a bad person! I almost never use swear words in audible speech. Not because I don't like them but just something that sort of stuck from my old life. I used to use "fag/faggot/gay" as pejoratives, but gradually stopped because I think that in that sort of usage they are no different from racial slurs and --having gotten to know a fair number of gay people-- I no longer feel comfortable using them. I still occasionally use "retard" but have been using it less and less for the same reason. I never used "cunt" because in the US it seems to elicit a pretty volatile emotional response. Or maybe that's just my impression, since I never hear it locally.

My sister is a lesbian, she calls me a faggot all the time. Lol. I have grown to like the word, but I don't use it ever. I also don't use retard or cunt. I'm not really big on swearing myself. But I kind of like people who swear. Haha

I have never had a discriminatory thought regarding homosexuals and grew up not considering faggot a pejorative term specifically aimed at homosexuals. It was always used as a general pejorative like asshole, dickhead, cunt, douchebag, etc. I only learned that it was considered particularly offensive to gays when I noticed that the word was being censored in the Dire Straits song Money For Nothing when played on the radio.

Has someone now decided that 'gay' is offensive? If so, I think I'll push back on this one a bit; although, I can't imagine a situation where I would use it as a pejorative. This reminds me of the recent campaign to get the word 'bossy' removed from our common vernacular.

I personally still say gay for stupid all the time. I try not to but it just comes out.

I understand criticism of that particular use of the word 'gay'. I am just trying to clarify that 'gay' isn't being considered immediately offensive like 'faggot' seems to be regardless of context.
