Living in My car In a Church Parking Lot...

RE: Living in My car In a Church Parking Lot...
Oh and out of state tuition only lasts one year. Then you're in state. Go get a job for a year.

Seriously my sister worked FT and raised two babies on her own while going to school full time (with no help from anyone).
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

This whole thread is fucking stupid. The amount of excuses this person is making is ridiculous.

Yep my head hurts and I feel slightly dumber for having been here.

So? Won't they have you? Unless you family are complete douche-bags, I'll bet getting back to Jersey is a phone call away.

As someone who's starting the process of retuning to school and as a parent of a brand new college student, I have to call bullshit here. Unless you were in a trade school or some kind of private, on-line school, most of your credits should transfer. Even if they don't, so what. Moving back home and starting over from scratch is a better option than living in your car!

Get back to Jersey, establish residency and go back to school. No out-of-state tuition required.

RE: Living in My car In a Church Parking Lot...
The purpose of the fundraiser was to find people willing to help me get back into school now so I could finish it and have an opportunity to get into a teaching career. There is always a long-way to do things when it comes to money. The whole point of fundraisers is to help people get back on track. Missing 2 years of school and transferring to a school with a different board WILL cost me thousands of dollars of the education I am already responsible for. Furthermore, it will take me YEARS to pay off enough student debt if I were to give all my paychecks to pay it off just to requalify for financial aid. And paying out of pocket, I'd have to make $12,000 a year just for the tuition, plus be able to pay any of my bills while going to school, minus 15% of my wages garnished for my existing student loans, minus the thousands of dollars in credits I lost by missing 2 years of schools and transferring to a different board.

Yes, it is possible to do it that way. I'm asking for help to go back to school as early as the end August. I already missed a semester. I just want to be back in my classes. It took me so long to summon up the courage to back to school at 31 years old. I want to be able to finish and do something with my life that actually helps others rather than just helping myself survive.

Taking the advice I was given, I summoned up the courage to ask strangers for help. I've known so many caring and empathetic atheists that I didn't know this would be so controversial. I'm sorry I asked. If you like, you can delete the thread. I'm not going to make anymore posts. I'm just getting responses that are about what I can do to survive. That has nothing to do with getting help to get back on track and achieve my goal of getting back in school so I can achieve a lifelong goal.

I wish you all long and fulfilling lives.

^^bullshit

Whether you're wilfully or stupidly ignorant remains to be seen, but everything you've said so far about why you can't is bullshit.

I conclude you do this shit for a living.

I thought you were like 19ish Facepalm

You've got to be kidding right? Listen I am 24 single mother with 3 kids. Escaped from a horrific abusive marriage. I struggle with my own mental issues. I got my GED and plan to go back to college. Life is tough. Seriously I know it is. If you can get someone to give you money then more power to you I guess, but I cannot.

Bullshit. I personally gave you advice for how to finish your degree. You are choosing to ignore it.

Ami, You've been given tons of advice with nothing but "I can't" for answers. I'm beginning to believe you're confusing can't with won't There is no reason you can't move back to Jersey and start over. You already set up a donation site asking for $60,000 to completely pay off your debt. I'd bet that asking for a smaller amount, after moving in with family, to help you get re-established, not debt-free, would go over far better.

I have to say though, with the "I can't/won't" attitude, even if you get the $60,000 you'll probably still be neck deep in it.

For fucks sake, I'd be willing (and I'll bet many here would) to chip in for a bus ticket to get you back to Jersey. But, no way in hell I'll give to someone who want out of debt on the backs of other and is unwilling to to anything to help herself.

You didn't give me any advice. You told me something I already know. I already know I can go to New Jersey and not live in my car. I'm used to living in my car. If I had to live in it for the rest of my life, I guess I could manage. What you are suggesting, at minimum, adds years to finishing school and forfeiting thousands of dollars in earned credits. I already looked into what transfers to Edison, and WPU, and KU, and CNJ, and NJCU. Mostly just my prereq credits. Some of my math credits but not my physics and chemistry credits. It is a reset of half of the classes I've taken on top of waiting a year for residency, on top of years to save up to go back. Your college credits are only good for a few years. I'd have to start all over and I would *STILL* have the debt. You are oversimplifying the problem and trying to make it much worse.

There are people that raise tens of thousands of dollars for plastic surgery or for college tuition. I don't know why it bothers you so much that I just want to get my life back on track and get back in school without losing so much hard work that took me over 30 years. If you don't want to donate, that is fine, but you do not have to put me down as a fellow human being. I'm trying to accomplish a goal to finish my education quickly, requalify for financial aid, and complete school with less debt. There are teenagers raising just as much money to get their tuitions paid for. Why does it bother you so much that I'm 34 and just trying to finish what I've started?

I'm using the site to try to make my already difficult life a little less difficult and get back on track to achieving a lifelong goal. I'm sorry that you cannot empathize with that. But, as a fellow human being who cares about you, please do not attack me.

RE: Living in My car In a Church Parking Lot...
I don't know whether the OP is for real or not, but I know this: I had my career path as a district manager for a Fortune 100 energy company cut short by the 08 recession; they sold my stores into franchise and zip-bam was I ever jobless. And in the SoCal market at the time, there were no companies trying to hire store managers, let alone area/district managers. Long story short, I kept my ass looking for work, and in the meantime volunteered at a local food bank, figuring that if I needed to be a future customer, I might as well start my sweat-equity ASAP Smile.

Long story a little longer, it didn't work for me, I got some help from family and friends, couch-surfed for about a year, and in that time saved up enough from recycling / busking guitar on the streets / selling possessions (they were in my ex's garage) etc to get back home to Texas, where I found work pretty quickly and soon was working three jobs and sixty-five hours a week. I'm down to two and fifty-eight now Smile.

The point is, if the OP is truly in her dire straits, she need not suffer alone; there are agencies and organizations available to help.

Ami, if you need help fine-tuning her interview issues, she can PM me. Having conducted thousands of job interviews over the course of sixteen years in business, I've got a pretty good line on the ins and outs of that. I don't have any money to give, but I'm sure I can help you get around the homeless and autism issues that seem to be derailing your efforts.
