The Borg cube isn't very aerodynamic either... and yet they're the most technologically advanced race out there...

Can someone please explain why people are worried about aerodynamics for interstellar travel?

Im not a trekkie, tbh. So I assumed origin and destination had atmosphere, but obviously path didn't.

If I recall correctly, that wasn't exactly a technological being...

Observational wave function collapse cannot force any particular eigenstate; therefore, no information is transmitted.

EPR paradox can be used to establish an indirect 'measurement' without causing wave function collapse. These 'weak measurements' are used in experiments of this nature.

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

I should hope not. Star Trek depicts a future void of humility. It is Ego incarnate as man.

Pondering the future of mankind and it's progress is always an interesting discussion. For those of you who have the capacity to ponder even further, may I suggest a fantastic article about mankind's evolution as we race towards super intelligence, and the possible existence of other intelligent life in the universe. It's called The Fermi Paradox.

I found it absolutely exhilarating :-)

For those who are interested, NASA is currently working on the alcuberrie drive.
A type of warp drive theoretically capable of propelling a spacecraft at ten times the speed of light.

In the event humanity ever achieves a Star Trek level of development, I prophesy that red shirts will quickly become a thing of the past.
