So some talk about being a brummie reminded me of the accent tag videos some of us did a while back. Last time was a bit of a laugh so I just thought, fuck it, why not do it again?
The basic premise is you make a video of yourself saying a load of random things (which can be found here) and then post it for everyone else to take the piss out of.
What I was reading from (what you're supposed to say):
-Your name and username.
-Where you’re from.
-Pronounce the following words: Aunt, Roof, Route, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Pajamas, Caught, Naturally, Aluminium, GIF, Tumblr, Crackerjack, Doorknob, Envelope, GPOY.
-What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
-What is a bubbly carbonated drink called?
-What do you call gym shoes?
-What do you call your grandparents?
-What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
-What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
-Choose a book and read a passage from it.
-Do you think you have an accent?
-Be a wizard or a vampire?
-Do you know anyone on Tumblr in real life?
-End audio post by saying any THREE words you want.
Yeah, I didn't do the last two... or the book one.
Apologies for looking and sounding like a fat miserable bastard. That's just what I am.
For those who aren't afraid of posting their ugly mug for the world to see, get involved and share your accent... there's plenty of peeps around nowadays who weren't here when we did this the last time and it's always interesting finding out what other members look and sound like. It gives you a different perception of the text on the screen if you can actually put a face and voice to it, at least that's what I've found.
Also, if anyone can come up with something a bit more inventive than the words that are used for the 'traditional' accent tag, I'm game, but I looked online and couldn't really find anything else that interesting.

So when do I get to hear your (presumably) lovely accent?
Meh. Mine's a pretty generic American accent. After my classical voice training, and my radio/news training, all of the interesting things have bled out of it :p
... but maybe one of these days I'll get a bug up my butt and make a video
