RE: religion and etiquette
Religion has nothing to do with etiquette.

RE: religion and etiquette
You probably aren't a bad guy, but the room here is giving you feedback.

Feedback you've asked for in a variety of implicit and explicit ways.

If you want to improve your self-admitted social awkwardness, take heed of the feedback young padawan. Don't be a dramaqueen. Don't post trolly, spammy posts. Find someone who's posting style you admire - say Minimalist - and follow them around like a doting puppy dog until they agree to become your mentor for life. Gifts to the mentor are expected. Expensive gifts. The new 2015 Mustang is nice for example. Hint, hint. V8 only por favor.

But, the first step is self-awareness and it seems you are there. No snark intended; which is hard for me, as I drink Cutty Snark for breakfast. It can't help but ooze out of my pores.

RE: religion and etiquette
Well when it comes to religion and etiquette I am only tolerant of it if the religion is actually tolerable.
I have no issue paying obeisances to a Hindu god, Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha), or even pagan gods. I know their message and what they represent and I have found none of it harmful.
But I will not abide by the etiquette of a religion which does not promote anything positive and this includes Judaism, Islam, Christianity, the demented Baha'i Faith, or the Mormon cult.
If I went to a masjid I would have no issues eating pork right then and there.
