Before we say another about whether there was a Jesus, I think we need to define what would qualify as being Jesus. Was there ever a Joshua Ben Joseph? There almost certainly had been hundred if not thousands of them. So what attribute would a perspective historical person have to have to qualify him as The Jesus? Son of god? Then such a Jesus as certainly as can be did not exist, I think everyone knows this. So to ask this question of did the Jesus ever exist, you must have in mind a another set of attributes that would qualify a notional individual as being the Jesus. So what are those attributes? So of some Joseph and Mary that lived around 10Bc-30Ad? I'd be surprised if there weren't many of those. The Jews actually didn't use many names and finding the right combination Jesus, Joseph and Mary probably isn't all that hard. So what else?
