My favorite band of all time.

Not a big fan, but ABBA are my favorite all girl band; just beating out Air Supply.

I don't really know what to say. Apparently, a lot of people like ABBA, but they just don't speak to me. As far as I can see, they are a no-too-bad disco-era band, but I wouldn't say they should be immortalized as music gods or anything. I don't see depth in the construction of the songs, or especially deep meaning in the lyrics, or instrumental genius. I just don't "get it."

But that's the beauty of art, I guess-- all our lives can benefit by finding those sounds that get our own neurons tingling, and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

You'll have to say if this is raining on your parade, Brian, but I agree with bennyboy on this one. Musically what sets them apart is harmony, but the rhythms are so relentlessly upbeat and cheesy. It made sense for disco I guess but there is a reason that didn't stick.

I like them a lot too, but even more so for helping inspire my favorite bands that followed. I'd say Beatles, Queen, Stones, Zeppelin, The Who and Floyd are all some of the most influential bands of all time. I find GNR and Nirvana pretty great too, but they were only made possible by the greats that came before them. I'm not picky when it comes to music. I like a little of everything.
